The First Tithe – God reveals Himself as the Creator and Owner of everything (Psalm 24:1; Psalm 50:10-12; Job 41:11; Deuteronomy 10:14; Exodus 19:5). This includes all the gold and silver (Haggai 2:8). The Bible reveals that God requires us to return to Him only a tithe [tithe means “tenth”] of what our productive efforts produce or our “earned increase”. God uses the tithe He claims as His own for proclaiming His Gospel message – the Good News of the coming Kingdom of God! It is also His system for financing His New Testament church and feeding the flock (I Corinthians 9:7-14; Hebrews 7:12). He will abundantly bless you for honoring Him in giving tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:8-10)!
