Third Tithe

The Third Tithe – God instructed His people to set aside a “third tithe” to assist those in need – such as orphans, widows, strangers, and the local ministry (Deuteronomy 26:12-13; Deuteronomy 14:28-29). This special – “second additional tithe” – is God’s assistance program that is used to take care of those with little, or no means of support, especially those of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10). The “third tithe” is also a full ten percent of a person’s earned increase. However, this tithe, is saved only during the third and sixth years of a seven-year cycle. Brethren can also direct the use of third tithe to help local members who are in need. Consult with your local minister to coordinate distribution.
