Sabbath Services
Even God’s elect are flawed and will at times fall prey to temptation, yet the hallmark of His people is an inability to quit. Moses fought a temper and a lack of self-control. Elijah, Job, and Solomon fought discouragement and depression. David fought lust and pride. Nevertheless, all these examples, and more, were overcomers, a quality which qualified them to inherit their future roles in God’s family. Be empowered by the fact that Christ endured the same temptations and yet succeeded; that He paved the way for us and is now at God’s right hand as our intercessor. Let’s cover some of the traits of human nature we must self-examine for and root out of our lives. Mr. Lowe speaks on concepts of self-examination judgment, condemnation, and comparison. Overcoming human nature is a lifelong affair. After going through how to put off the fleshly life, we spend time going through how to put on God’s way of life and what that looks like. Without God, we can do nothing (John 15), yet we can do all things with God’s help (Philippians 4). Prayer is an integral concept to the process of overcoming, as is an honest inventorying of your spiritual health. The “Dunamis” (G.), or “miraculous working power”, of God will champion us through every trial. Those who endure to the end shall be saved.
