All right, let’s go to Matthew 5, Verse 12. Let’s start here today, Matthew 5, Verse 12 and see what it says. What did Christ mean when He said these words? Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in Heaven. When only a few verses earlier, look at Matthew 5:5, He said; Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. So do some of those who will be saved go to Heaven to collect the rewards while others, the meek inherit the earth? Did Jesus contradict himself in these 2 verses? Well we know the Bible doesn’t contradict itself and it’s one of the keys for understanding.
