Sabbath Services

Are you one of the chosen few? The weak and the base are The Called. A “calling” is a “drawing”. God calls us; He draws us to Him. Done by God, our calling is a lifting of the veil so we are granted understanding. There is to be a weeping and gnashing of teeth upon the called but unchosen group. These are the people who have been given, by God, an understanding and chance at eternal life, but didn’t take it seriously and rejected God’s way. If we bear fruit as a result of our calling, we may be termed chosen. Calling is God’s will and grace (unmerited pardon), not of anything of ourselves. We are called out of the world to respond- to bear fruit, repent of our past sins, and vow to change in baptism and the laying on of hands. After being called and chosen, we must remain faithful. Our commitment must stick. As we have been granted understanding, if we know better and do it anyways, the act is sin. We are called to be doers of the law (not hearers only) to be justified from our sins. In a world were deception abounds, we are called to simplicity in Christ. We are known by our fruits. Galatians 1 vs 6 shows the group of those called (given understanding by God), chosen (respond to their calling through repentance and chance towards God’s way), yet are unfaithful (they endure not). If we don’t obey Him faithfully, then we don’t know Him. Those lacking a love of the truth do not hunger and thirst for righteousness. Those who do not open The Book regularly and study, they will eventually fall away and perish. We are told that many are called but few are chosen. Regardless of how tough, we must continue to fight the good fight. Only those who endure to the end shall be saved. Revelation 17 vs. 14 tells us that those who are with Him are called, chosen, AND faithful. We have to want this more than anything else or we’re not going to make it. How are we doing? Have we responded to our calling and remaining faithful to our vow at baptism that we live the life we committed to? If we draw near to God and hold fast to the truth, we will be among the group termed the called, chosen, and faithful.
